The Ministry of the Year 2017 kicked off in January with a prayer seminar and week of prayer in Polokwane. After that, a prayer seminar took place in Grimbeeck Park, Potchefstroom. It consisted of a Saturday morning seminar where Rev. Willem Badenhorst, form Moreleta Park Church, presented two sessions and I also presented two sessions and preached the Sunday morning.

I also acted as speaker at various Daniel Men`s conferences. At the conferences, I usually handle three sessions dealing with the man’s relationship with God, his wife and family, and how he presents himself in a priestly role in his family by praying, serving, blessing, teaching and heads the discipline in the family.

One of the highlights of year was Groundworks 2017, which was hosted in Turkey. There we could pray with missionaries from various parts of the world for five days. It was mainly prayer that took place for five days and done in different ways.

I could also conduct two Prayer retreats at Shammah Game Lodge near Koster in the North-West Province. The purpose of the Retreats is to silent oneself and pray the Word.

In December, I was asked to put together a Christmas service in Roedtan. I had the privilege of compiling the entire service and working with several talented artists. Christmas is just a time of nostalgia and a wonderful opportunity to revive the gospel.

After that, at very short notice, I left for Israel to act as tour leader after the original tour leader became seriously ill. I had 11 fantastic days with a wonderful group of people from South Africa and could have served them. It is usually a deep spiritual experience to be quiet in places and to experience that Jesus also served and lived there.

One of the highlights was the honour to lead the praise and worship sessions for the staff of Jericho Walls on Friday mornings. The Holy Spirit visited us and touched us with His tenderness and Holiness. All honour and praise to the Lord.

I’m so also grateful that the Lord also carried me through an operation where I experienced serious complications.

I have the desire to close with Psalm 103:1-5

1 Of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! 2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, 3 who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, 4 who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, 5 who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
